Jammu, Feb 17: Minister for Social Welfare Sakina Itoo informed the House that 484 representations have been disposed of by the J&K Backward Classes Commission received from various quarters.
Replying to a question of Sheikh Ghulam Rasool in Upper House today the Minister said as many as 1733 cases/ representations are pending for disposal before the Commission as on January, 2014 including 104 representations received during last four years.
Ms. Sakina further informed that 65 cases/ representations from district Ganderbal are pending for disposal before the Commission. She said out of which, the information in 7 cases has been received and is under consideration before the Commission for disposal.
She said information with regard to 58 cases is awaited from Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, adding that appropriate action would be taken as and when the Commission receives recommendations in the said cases.
During the period, 4 villages namely Gozhama, Wakura, Dab and Batwina of Ganderbal district have been notified under RBA area in terms of SRO-203 of 2009, the Minister maintained.
