Jammu, Feb 17: As many as 8037 candidates in 274 batches have been trained in various sectors under Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY), of which 2790 entrepreneurs have been assisted for setting-up of 2669 enterprises under Seed Capital Fund Scheme.
This information was given by Minister for Labour and Employment Ajay Kumar Sadhotra while replying to a question by Vijay Bakaya in the Legislative Council today.
Mr. Sadhotra said that SKEWPY is a flagship programme implemented in the State to address the unemployment problem with main components of Jammu & Kashmir Self Employment Scheme, Seed Capital Fund Scheme, Youth Start-up Loan Scheme, National Monitory Development Fund Scheme, Voluntary Service Allowance and Women Entrepreneurship Programme.
Giving scheme-wise details, the minister informed that against the disbursement of Rs. 23391.84 lakh, as many as 17548 units have been established under JKSES, SCF, YSLS and WEP. He said that 198 migrant youth have also been benefitted under Voluntary Service allowance Scheme and Women Entrepreneurship Programme.
Mr. Sadhotra further informed that 50647 unemployed educated youth have been benefitted under Voluntary Service Allowance and an amount of Rs. 8945.42 lakh have been disbursed to them. An amount of Rs. 606.59 crore has been disbursed to 18129 beneficiaries and an amount of Rs. 222.42 crore has been provided as incentive under JKSES and SCF schemes so far.
