17 vehicles e-challaned, Rs 42,000 fine imposed

Rajouri, June 14: In line with the directions of Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, the office of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri today conducted an intensive road checking drive at Panja Chowk, Rajouri.
The enforcement drive was carried out under the supervision of ARTO Rajouri, Rajesh Gupta, by MVI, Rahul Singh and officials of MVD during early morning hours and witnessed thorough inspection of vehicles to ensure strict adherence to the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and rules framed thereunder.
During the drive, a total of 100 vehicles were checked. Out of these, 17 vehicles were e-challaned for various violations, with an expected penalty amounting to Rs. 42,000
In addition, six e-Autos found being operated without valid driving licences were seized on the spot.
The ARTO Rajouri reiterated the commitment of the Transport Department to promote road safety, reduce traffic violations, and ensure compliance with all legal requirements. He appealed to all vehicle owners and drivers to carry valid documents and follow traffic rules in the interest of public safety.
