JAMMU, Dec 26: As a large number of farmers are still staging dharna on various rail tracks in Punjab, Railways has decided to cancel 17 trains (to and fro Jammu/Katra/Udhampur) fully for tomorrow. Further, it has been decided to short originate 11 trains and short terminate 13 others.
Divisional Traffic Manager (DTM) of Ferozpur Division, Mahesh Kumar told Excelsior that 17 incoming/outgoing trains which were scheduled to start their journey the next day have been cancelled fully. He said these trains included train number 12237 (Banaras-Jammu), 22439 (New Delhi-Katra), 12238 (Jammu-Banaras), 22440 (Katra-New Delhi), 14034 (Katra-Old Delhi), 12266 (Jammu-Delhi Sarai Rohilla), 14610 (Katra-Rishikesh), 22461 (New Delhi-Katra), 12426 (Jammu-New Delhi), 14609 (Rishikesh-Katra), 12446 (Katra-New Delhi), 12425 (New Delhi-Jammu), 12445 (New Delhi-Katra), 14033 (old Delhi-Katra), 22401 (Delhi Sarai-Udhampur), 22462 (Katra-New Delhi) and 12237 (Banaras-Jammu).
He further informed that 12 trains coming to Jammu/Udhampur/Katra Railway Station from various parts of the country were short terminated today at various places due to ‘Kissan’ agitation in Punjab. He said Railways has also decided to short terminate 13 trains (Jammu/Katra/Udhampur bound) which are scheduled to start their journey tomorrow.
“While the train number 19223 (Ahmedabad-Jammu) and 19225 (Jodhpur-Jammu) will be short terminated at Bathinda Junction Railway Station, train number 12413 (Ajmer-Jammu) and 18309 (Sambalpur-Jammu) will be short terminated at Old Delhi, 22941 (Indore-Udhampur) at Ludhiana Junction, 4141 (Prayagraj-Udhampur) at Meerut City Railway Station, 12919 (Dr Ambedkar Nagar-Katra), 12471 (Mumbai Bandra Terminus-Katra) and 11077 (Pune-Jammu) at New Delhi, 13151 (Kolkata-Jammu) at Saharanpur Railway Station and 12331 (Howrah-Jammu), 12587 (Gorakhpur-Jammu) and 15651 (Guwahati-Jammu) at Roorkee Railway Station.” he added.
The DTM disclosed that they have also decided to short originate journey of 11 trains which were scheduled to start their journey tomorrow from Jammu/Katra Railway Station. He said the train number 12476 (Katra-Hapa Railway Station) will now start its journey from Ambala Cantt Junction, 19224 (Jammu-Ahmedbbad) and 19226 (Jammu-Jodhpur) from Bhatinda Junction Railway Station, 12414 (Jammu-Ajmer) from Old Delhi, 19028 (Jammu-Mumbai Bandra) and 16318 (Katra-Kanyakumari) from Dhuri Junction, 14646 (Jammu-Jaisalmer) from Ludhiana Junction, 12332 (Jammu-Howrah) from Laksar Junction, 13152 (Jammu-Kolkata) from Saharanpur), and 12920 (Katra-Dr Ambedkar Nagar Railway Station) and 11078 (Jammu-Pune) from New Delhi.
