UDHAMPUR, Mar 8: A Lok Adalat was held in the District Court complex under the chairmanship of Ashok Kumar Koul, Principal, District and Sessions Judge.
During the Lok Adalat, two benches were constituted. The first bench comprising of Ashok Kumar Koul, Principal, District and Sessions Judge, Mohinder Kumar Sharma, Additional District and Sessions Judge and Advocate Ishwar Dass Sharma was constituted to deal with matrimonial, MACT and bank cases.
The second bench comprising Jatinder Singh Jamwal, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Khem Raj Sharma, DJMM and Advocate Bharat Bhushan Sharma was constituted to deal with civil and criminal matters referred by the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate and other Magistrates.
A total of 30 cases were taken up in the Lok Adalat, out of which 2 MACT, 5 Bank cases and 10 civil/criminal cases were settled.
An amount of Rs 4,13,370 was given as compensation/ recovery in MACT/ Bank cases.
