BARAMULLA, Apr 21: The scrutiny of nomination papers filed by 18 candidates of different political parties for Baramulla Parliamentary constituency was held here today by Returning Officer, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone.
Election Observers for the constituency, K Praveen Kumar and Dr. Murli Krishna besides contesting candidates and their representatives were present.
The nomination paper of Ulfat Sabba Ahmad (Independent) was rejected while as Mohammad Abbas (Independent) withdrew his nomination paper.
It is pertinent to mention here that the last date of withdrawal of nomination papers is April 23. Polling in the constituency would take place on May 7 for which the district administration has made elaborate arrangements.
