RAMBAN, June 1: A 16-day long Swachhta Pakhwada 2026 organised by the Sawalkote Hydroelectric (HE) Project was today concluded with a mass rally at Tanger village.
The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from locals, employees, and contractual staff, who marched with banners and placards to spread awareness about cleanliness and environmental protection.
As part of the initiative, cloth and paper bags were distributed among local businesses to encourage a shift away from plastic use.
The event was led by Head of Project (HoP), Dinabandhu Boral, who emphasized the importance of adopting eco-friendly alternatives such as paper and jute bags.
He highlighted the benefits of reducing plastic usage for the environment, public health, water resources and agricultural productivity, which is a key driver of the village economy.
