16 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Jan 28: In two different cases, Udhampur Police today rescued 16 bovine animals and arrested a smuggler.
Acting on reliably information, a Police party, led by SHO  Majalta Inspector Sanjeev Kumar,  laid a surprise naka near Battal in the wee hours and intercepted a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number  JK13C-4839 and rescued 2 bovine animals. The accused driver namely Ahmed Ali of  Ramnagar was arrested on the spot and the vehicle seized.
In this regard, a case FIR number  07/2014 U/S 188/RPC has been  registered at Police Station Majalta.
Similarly, a Police party from PP  Tikri laid a surprise naka near Mand on the National Highway  in the wee hours and intercepted a truck bearing registration number  JK19-2085 and rescued 14 bovine animals. Accused driver fled  from  the spot while  vehicle was seized.
A case under Section  188/RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station  Rehambal  and search was  on to arrest the fleeing driver.
