UDHAMPUR, Nov 4: Continuing drive against spread of narcotic drugs/ psychotropic substances under the directions of SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey, Police today seized 15kg of cannabis from Jakheni Chowk and arrested two accused, who were smuggling the consignment from Srinagar in an Innova car.
The car, bearing registration number JK01T- 8754, was intercepted during a naka, led by SHO Udhampur , Inspr Vijay Singh Choudhary, under the supervision of Dr Rohit Chadgal, Dy SP Hqrs. Udhampur and Rajinder Singh Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur.
During thorough search, 15kg of cannabis was recovered from the car, which was being driven by Bilal Ahmed son of Ghulam Mahi-ul-Din of Hazratbal. Police arrested the driver along with his associate Rahil Aziz son of Abdul Aziz of Hazrathbal, Srinagar and seized the cannabis as well as the car.
In this connection, a case FIR number 524/19 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on.
