JAMMU, Aug 28: In a major crackdown, Satwari and Bishnah Police seized 14 vehicles involved in illegal mining.
As per police sources, in order to curb the illegal mining of the important minerals which directly leads to environmental havocs and effect the life of general public by disturbing ecological balance of the area, a team from Police Station Satwari led by SHO Inspector Sameer Jiilani and assisted by Incharge Police Post Chatha SI Ranjit Singh was constituted under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma.
The team acted stringently on the specific inputs generated out of local intelligence and raided different suspected locations and seized 13 vehicles involved in illegal mining.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh also conducted raid and seized a vehicle involved in illegal mining.
DMO Jammu was intimated about the same.
The mining was being done in violation of order of High Court of J&K.
In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law, Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
