14 die in Kashmir, J&K toll 468

*382 fresh cases, tally crosses 24000 mark

SRINAGAR, Aug 8: Fourteen people died in Kashmir due to COVID-19 today taking the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 468 while 382 fresh coronavirus cases were reported in the Valley taking the J&K tally past 24000.
A 60 years old man from Kupwara died today in SMHS Hospital Srinagar. He was admitted on Aug 3 with bilateral pneumonia.
A 50 year old man from Zaloora area of Handwara in district Kupwara died at SKIMS Soura today. He was admitted to the hospital on July 20.
A 50 year old woman from Natipora area of Srinagar died today at SKIMS hospital. She was admitted there on Aug 6.
A man from Nawa Kadal area of Srinagar died in SMHS hospital today. He was admitted on Aug 1 as a case of bilateral pneumonia.
A man from Kreeri area of Baramulla district died of COVID at SMHS hospital today. He was admitted on Aug 6 with bilateral pneumonia.
A 58 year old man from Gurez in Bandipora district died today. He was admitted at SKIMS on Aug 5.
A 70 year old man from Handwara in district Kupwara died today at SKIMS. He was admitted to SKIMS on Aug 1.
A 70 year old woman from Khanmoh area of Pantha Chowk Srinagar who was suffering from bilateral pneumonia died at SKIMS today.
A 55 year old woman of Sogam Lolab in district Kupwara today died at SKIMS Medical College Hospital in Bemina. She was admitted to the hospital on Aug 6.
A 65-year-old man from Sopore who was admitted with bilateral pneumonia died today due to Cardio-pulmonary arrest at SKIMS Soura.
A 60-year-old woman from Qaimoh area of Kulgam who was admitted on August 4 at the SKIMS Medical College hospital in Bemina died today.
An official from GMC Anantnag said that a woman from Bijbehara area who was admitted few days back in the hospital with pneumonia died today.
An official from GMC Baramulla said that a 65-year-old woman from Tangmarg who was admitted with bilateral pneumonia and was in surgical observation died today.
An official from District hospital Pulwama said that a 55-year-old woman from Nowhara Tahab died last evening at DH Pulwama.
With 14 more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 468 including 434 from Kashmir division and 34 from Jammu.
Among 382 fresh positive cases in Kashmir today, 36 are security personnel with 13 each from Army and CRPF, four from BSF, four from SSB and one from police.
Srinagar reported 178, Baramulla 20, Pulwama 38, Kulgam 1, Shopian 6, Anantnag 23, Budgam 61, Kupwara 21, Bandipora 10 and Ganderbal 24 cases
Srinagar topped the list with 6000 cases followed by Baramulla with 2093, Pulwama 1807, Kulgam 1594, Budgam 1523, Shopian 1514, Anantnag 1438, Kupwara 1230, Bandipora 972 and Ganderbal 654.
Out of 24390 positive cases, 7264 are active positive, 16667 have recovered and 459 have died; 34 in Jammu division and 425 in Kashmir division.
