RAJOURI, May 2: Police has rescued 14 bovines in separate operations conducted in Thanamandi and Budhal areas, arresting four accused persons and seizing three vehicles used for illegal transportation.
In Thanamandi, police teams intercepted three vehicles during naka checking and patrolling, rescuing 12 bovines. Three accused were arrested and separate FIRs were registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
In another operation in Budhal, police intercepted an individual transporting two bovines on foot without the required permission from the District Magistrate. The animals were rescued and legal action was initiated.
Police said further investigation is underway.
