UDHAMPUR, Jan 30: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling in Chenani and rescued 14 bovines besides arresting the smuggler.
These bovines were being smuggled in a vehicle bearing registration number JK08J-9349, which was stopped by a Police team of Police Station Chenani, led by SHO Jaswinder Singh, at naka point Chenani.
During checking, 14 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle in a cruel manner and these were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
Driver of the vehicle, namely Parvez Ahmed, son of Ashmat Ali of Kathua was arrested on the spot while all the bovines were rescued. In this regards, a case FIR under relevant Sections of Law has been registered at Police Station Chenani.
