14 bovine animals rescued, 3 held; vehicles seized

RAJOURI, May 19: Thannamandi police seized two vehicles loaded with 14 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers from Manyal Gali area last night.
Reports said that a police party led by SI Mohd Farid under the supervision of SDPO Thannamandi, Iftiqar Talib intercepted Tata Mobile vehicle JK02C-2812 and 407 Junga/ mini truck JK02T-9881 at Manyal Gali. They found 14 bovine animals packed brutally in the vehicles. The smugglers had tied animals with ropes. They were moving towards Mughal Road for their onward journey to Kashmir.
The police seized the animals along with vehicles and arrested three persons in this connection. They were identified as Abdul Rashid, son of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Rajdhani in Thannamandi, driver Gulzar Ahmed, son of Mohd Akram, resident of Awantipora ( Kmr) and driver of the other vehicle Babar Hussain, son of Basharat Hussain, resident of Khablan in Thannamandi. A case FIR No. 66/ 2015 was registered against them.
