SRINAGAR, June 8: Government today said that 1391 cases under Roshni Act are pending in Poonch district due to number of reasons.
In a written reply to a question of MLA Javid Ahmad Rana, Minister Incharge Revenue said due to number of reasons including incomplete applications, non- availability of forest clearance and cost of land in approved cases has not been deposited by the applicants 1391 cases under Roshni Act are pending in Poonch.
The Minister stated that no time frame can be given to dispose of the pending cases due to the reason that the entire legislation (Roshni Act) is under challenge before High Court in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL).
