JAMMU, Aug 12: On the 42nd day of ongoing Swami Amarnath yatra, 1386 pilgrims paid obeisance to naturally formed Ice Lingam of Lord Shiva in cave shrine situated at an altitude of 3880 meters in deep Himlayas in South Kashmir district of Anantnag today.
With this the total number of pilgrims performing darshan in holy cave since the first batch of yatris left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas here on July 1 has touched 3,44,517.
According to an official spokesman, the rush of yatra has decreased and there is no usual hustle and bustle at base camps of Nunwan Pahalgam and Baltal.
He said 0ver 600 pilgrims left from Baltal to holy cave today while 301 left from Nunwan-Pahalgam base camp to holy cave via traditional Chandanwari track.
The spokesman said the pilgrims having night halt at the Chandanwari, Sheshnag and Panchtarni camps also left for holy cave early this morning.
He said the weather remained clean in some area of yatra track while it was partially cloudy in upper reaches near holy cave.
Meanwhile, a fresh batch of 123 pilgrims in six vehicles left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas for holy cave early this morning under tight security arrangements. These pilgrims after reaching Nunwan and Pahalgam will proceed towards holy cave early tomorrow morning.
