JAMMU, Aug 12: Continuing his regular interaction with the people of his Constituency, Speaker State Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta extensively toured the Sunjwan and Chatta area of the rural belt and interacted with the residents of these locailites.
Gupta was apprised that roads in these localities have been badly damaged due to recent incessant rains and the locals are made to suffer a lot due to these damages and at some places the roads have been totally washed away due to which the people are unable to move out even during any emergent situation.
He issued directives to the PWD(R&B) Department to speed up the restoration work and moreover make a comprehensive plan for the development of drains and roads of these areas, to prevent this kind of situation to take place in future. Drainage system plays very important role in keeping the roads in good shape and it should be done on priority, he added.
He further instructed the revenue officers to assess the losses suffered by the people and the process of compensating them should be completed on war footing as most of them come from poor background.
He also visited Government High School, Chatta and listened to the grievances being faced by the staff and students. He was informed that the school is in immediate need of Boundary wall, head master and a sweeper. Gupta assured that all their demands will be fulfilled soon.
