UDHAMPUR, Nov 27: Udhampur Police recovered more than 13 kg poppy straw from a load carrier at Jakhani and arrested the accused driver.
During routine checking at Jakhani, a Police team from Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Inspector Raghubir Choudhary, intercepted the three- wheeler goods carrier, bearing registration number JK02CW-3872 and recovered 13.18 kg poppy straw.
Police also arrested driver of the vehicle, identified as Gurmeet Singh, son of Ajit Singh of Kotli Shah Doula, R S Pura, Jammu.
In this connection, a case FIR number 605/2023 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case has been taken up.
