13 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Feb 2: Police foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 13 number of cattle besides arresting two smugglers.
The smuggling attempts were foiled at Tikri and Chenani where the vehicles loaded of bovine animals were intercepted by Police.
One Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JK02BG-9185, which was on way towards Kashmir, was intercepted at Tikri. During the thorough search, the vehicle was found loaded of eight bovine animals. Police rescued the animals and seized the vehicle even as its driver managed to escape from the spot. In this connection a case has been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
Meanwhile, Chenani Police intercepted one Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK14E-4286, which was also on way towards Kashmir. The vehicle was found loaded of five bovine animals which were rescued. Police seized the vehicle and arrested its driver namely Mohd Yonus, son of Fazzi of Paddar Roun Domail Udhampur and his associate Mohd Akram, son of Mohd Farooq of Marh Gajansoo, Jammu. A case in this connection was registered at Police Station Chenani.
