SRINAGAR, Aug 18: Acting tough against the persons involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police today arrested 13 persons and seized as many as 13 vehicles in Baramulla.
A police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Altaf Ahmed assisted by SHO PS Baramulla seized 11 tippers and arrested 11 drivers at Khanpora Baramulla involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police said.
As per police, they have been identified as Shabir Ahmad Dar son of Gh Nabi Dar resident of Jalsheri, Bashir Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Gani Dar resident of Jalsheri, Zahoor Ahmad Dar son of Gh Mohammad Dar resident of Rohama, Mohammad Rafiq Mir son of Ab Razak mir resident of Drangbal, Gh Nabi Lone son of Mohd Sultan Lone resident of Jalsheri, Mohammad Raman Dar son of Asadullah Dar resident of Sheeri, Showket Ahmad Sofi son of Gh Rasool Sofi resident of Khanpora, Irshad Ahmad Lone son of Mohd Arif Lone resident of Audoora sheeri, Mohd Iqbal Malik son of Gh Mohd Malik resident of Drangbal, Shabir Ahmad Malik son of Gh Rasool Malik resident of Drangbal, Mohd Yaseen Malik son of Mohd Afzal Malik resident of Drangbal.
Similarly, a police team under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Imtiaz Ahmed assisted by SHO PS Kunzer seized 2 tippers and arrested 2 drivers namely Gh Qadir Khan son of Ab Rehman resident of Mangloora & Mohd Arif Shah son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Takiya Batpora at Ferozpora Nallah Kunzer who was found involved in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals
“Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered in respective Police Stations and investigations have been initiated.”
