JAMMU, Nov 29: Around 12 kanal of Government land at village Majheen was retrieved by Jammu Development Authority (JDA) during an anti-encroachment drive conducted today.
The drive was conducted by concerned Tehsildar of JDA with active cooperation of Nagrota police and revenue team, under the control of Director Land Management JDA and overall supervision of Vice Chairman JDA. The Police team was led by SHO Nagrota Vishav Partap Singh and the revenue team was led by concerned Naib-Tehsildar.
During the drive, five illegal ‘pucca’ structures and some plinths constructed on JDA land were demolished and possession of approximately 12 kanals of land was taken over by the JDA. The enforcement team fenced the retrieved land with barbed wire and also installed JDA sign boards on the land.
As per the reports, four ‘pucca’ structures and three plinths were illegally constructed on the JDA land by a notorious land grabber against whom the JDA has already lodged 3 FIRs with concerned Police Station.
In a strong message, JDA has asked the offenders to refrain from encroaching/trespassing into JDA lands else they will have to face strict action.
