12 children hurt as school bus over turns

RAJOURI, Jan 16: At least a dozen children were injured four of them seriously after a school bus turned turtle in Thannamandi area of district Rajouri this afternoon.
Reports said the mishap took place when the mini-bus No. JK02W/0142 attached with the Keralite Public School, Thannamandi, was bringing children to their homes in Behrote area. On the way, the driver lost control after a mechanical snag and the vehicle over turned.
The locals of the area and police rushed to the spot and shifted the school children to Thannamandi hospital. Of the total 12 children injured in the mishap, four were referred to district hospital Rajouri. They were identified as Anees Choudhary from Class 5th, Toheed Choudhary from class 6th, Awais Choudhary from 4th and Asgar Mehmood from class 7th. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, one Jugal Kishore, resident of ward No. 9 Rajouri was seriously injured after he was allegedly hit by DPS School bus near Water Pump in Rajouri town this evening. The victim with head injury was being shifted to GMC Hospital, Jammu.
