JAMMU, Jan 16: Ravindra Kumar Srivastava, a 1984 Jharkhand Cadre IAS officer is the new Chairman of Airports Authority of India.
He took over as Chairman, Airports Authority of India recently.
Before taking over as Chairman of AAI, he has been Principal Secretary to the Govt of Jharkhand in the Department of Planning and Development and Energy after reverting from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India where he was looking after the desk of J & K Affairs as Joint Secretary.
Mr. Srivastava Immediately after taking over the charge, took a review meeting which was attended by the Board Members, besides others.
He emphasized the need to project the AAI as a customer friendly organization and said that AAI as an organization should be proactive in gauzing the changing trends, expectations and demands of all the stake holders such as the passengers, airlines, different service providers, cargo handlers, media and security agencies.
He further said that those handling the cargo in AAI need to be more aggressive to capture their share of market from the present level of 2% by reducing the dwell time and by increasing the interaction with the players of this sector.
In his address, he also touched the measures to be taken for expenditure control, introduction of technology driven system particularly in the security apparatus and the importance of discipline.
