UDHAMPUR, Apr 20: Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police today rescued 12 animals at Sangoor Chowk NHW Udhampur.
These animals were being smuggled in two Tata Mobile vehicles, which were also seized by the Police besides arresting the accused smugglers.
Giving details, SSP Udhampur Rajiv Pandey said that a Police Party led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary, under the supervision of Rohit Chadgal, DySP Hqrs Udhampur and Rajinder Kumar Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur, laid a naka at Sangoor Chowk, NHW, Udhampur and intercepted two Tata Mobiles vehicles bearing registration number JK19 6928 and JK02 AV 8576.
During search, 12 bovine animals were found loaded in both the vehicles without any valid permission. All the bovine animals were rescued and the accused identified as Junaid Kasana son of Gh Nabi of Lower Munda, Kashmir, Aslam son of Alam Shah of Barnala Digdol Ramban and Mohd Yousuf son of Mohd Hussain of Bathindi Jammu were arrested on the spot.
In this connection, case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
