SRINAGAR, May 14: Around 115 residential structures, 30 boundary walls and hundreds of poplar trees were demolished here today.
As per the orders of High Court, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmed Lone deputed a team of officers comprising of Revenue, Irrigation and Flood Control, Srinagar Municipal Corporation and Police Department to demolish illegal structures from Shalteng to Parimpora area.
The team demolished 115 residential structures, 30 boundary walls and hundreds of poplar trees.
Deputy Commissioner directed all the concerned agencies to continue the demolition drive from the banks of River Jehlum.
