POONCH, May 14: In a major crackdown on the illegal mining activities, District Police Poonch took strong action against violators involved in unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals and seized 11 vehicles in this connection.
Reports said that during a series of enforcement operations conducted by police teams, a total of 11 vehicles engaged in illegal mining activities were intercepted and seized. The seized vehicles include- three dumpers, one tipper, and seven tractor trolleys, found involved in unlawful extraction and transportation of mining material without valid permission or authorization.
The action forms part of the continuous efforts of District Police to curb illegal mining, safeguard natural resources, and ensure strict implementation of the law. The Mining Department has been informed for initiating necessary legal proceedings and further action under relevant provisions of law and mining regulations, an official said.
