11 killed as cab falls into deep gorge in north Kashmir

SRINAGAR:
Eleven persons, including three women and a child, were killed today when a passenger cab in which they were travelling fell into a deep gorge in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
“11 persons, including three women and a child, were killed when a Tata Sumo rolled down a deep gorge near Sadhna Top on Karnah-Kupwara road,” police said.
The driver of the vehicle was also killed in the accident, the police said.
Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, president of the ruling People’s Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti and working president of the Opposition National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah have expressed grief over the accident.
In their separate condolence messages, they conveyed sympathies to the bereaved families in their hour of grief and prayed for peace to the departed souls. (AGENCIES)
