11 injured as tempo hits bus at Sandwari

JAMMU, Oct 26: Eleven persons including two minor boys received serious injuries when a tempo they were travelling in hit a bus from backside on National Highway at Sandwari near Vijaypur in Samba district.
According to police sources the accident occurred when a tempo which was on its way from Jammu to Hisar in Haryana hit a local bus from the behind when the driver of the bus applied sudden brakes at Sandwari near Vijaypur. The accident left 10 passengers of tempo and one passenger of the bus injured.
The injured has been identified as Ashok Kumar (47) son of Parkash Chand, his wife Veena (42) and their son Himanshu (15), Vimla Devi (50) wife of Narinder Kumar and her son Rajit (32), Rajinder Kumar (50) son of Narsingh Dass, Vidya Devi (70) wife of Harbans Lal, Jyoti (25) wife of Ranjeet Kumar, Neelam (48) wife of Sunil Malik and Anshu (12) son of Sunil Kumar, all residents of Hisar in Haryana. Besides, Manohar Lal (40) son of Tej Ram and resident of Jatwal in Samba district, was also injured in the incident.
A police team from police station Ghagwal rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where they were responding to the treatment when the last reports poured in.
A case in this regard has also been registered at police station Ghagwal and investigations started.
