11 bovine animals rescued

SAMBA Jan 21: In its continuous drive against bovine smuggling, Police Party headed by SI Ashish Sagar, Incharge PP Mansar under the supervision of Varinder Singh, Dy. SP HQ Samba and Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO P/S Samba, foiled a bovine smuggling bid during naka checking by intercepting a truck bearing Registration No. JK02AF-4165 carrying seven bovine animals which, were being illegally transported. Accordingly the  driver of the truck namely Yousaf Ahmed S/O Manzoor Hussain R/O Sidhra Jammu was arrested, vehicle seized and Case FIR No. 11/2016 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act was registered at P/S Samba and further investigations carried on.
In another incident, Police party headed by Inspector Rakesh Sharma, SHO P/S Ghagwal under the supervision of Varinder Singh, Dy. SP HQ Samba, foiled a bovine smuggling bid by intercepting a vehicle (Mahindra 207) bearing Registration No. JK08D-3886 carrying four bovine animals which were being illegally transported towards Punjab but on seeing the Police Naka at Ghagwal, the driver of the vehicle speeded up the vehicle which rolled down on NHW. The driver and his accomplice namely Sartaj Ali S/o Saraj-ud-din R/o Bharat Nagar Udhampur and Mohd Ayub S/o Mir Hussain R/o Rakhbarotian Vijaypur were arrested, vehicle was seized and Case FIR No. 10/2016 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, 279 RPC was registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation carried on.
