UDHAMPUR, Sept 29: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of liquor smuggling and seized 103 pouches of illicit liquor from a bootlegger in City Light Chowk area, Udhampur.
Acting on reliable information, a police party from Police Station Udhampur intercepted a suspicious person who was travelling on foot near City Light Chowk, Udhampur. During thorough search of that suspicious person, 103 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. Police seized the illicit liquor and arrested the accused, identified as Dhian Singh of Dandota in Panchari.
In this connection, case FIR No 463, under Section 48A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
