NEW DELHI:At least 10 terrorists belonging to dreaded Lashkar-e-Taiba are waiting to infiltrate into the Indian territory from Dudhiniya, Jammu side, an intelligence alert has said.
The hardcore terrorists being by one Lashkar commander named Maqbool Khan, sources in the Defence Ministry said, quoting a report received from Intelligence bureau, dating July 24.
The report of presence of Lashkar’s terrorists comes close on the heels of a terror attack in border town of Gurdaspur in Punjab early today.
The militants are planning to carry out attack on or before Independence Day celebrations, the sources said, adding that they were being actively supported by Pakistani Rangers.
“ISI (Intelligence Agency of Pakistan) is coordinating the conspiracy,” the Sources said.
The Army is keeping a close eye on the situation on the Line of Control with three layered anti-infiltration mechanism being further boosted up, they said.
“We are determined to foil any design of infiltration from across the LoC,” the Army officials said. (AGENCIES)
