10 die of COVID in Valley, toll 734

367 fresh cases in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sept 2: Ten novel Coronavirus patients died in Kashmir today taking the number of such deaths in Jammu and Kashmir to 734 and Valley reported 367 COVID-19 cases taking the total number of positive cases in J&K to 38,864.
A 65-year-old woman from Lalbazar Srinagar who was admitted on August 30 to SKIMS Soura died this evening.
A 65-year-old man from Wandhama Ganderbal died a week after he was admitted to SKIMS Soura.
Another man from Mitergam Pulwama, who was admitted on August 27 died last night at the Tertiary Care Hospital.
Also, a 65-year-old from Budgam who was admitted to SMHS Hospital on August 28 with hypertension and type 2 diabetes among other ailments succumbed this morning.
A 70-year-old man from Mughalpora, Kupwara, admitted on August 27 as a case of bilateral Community Acquire Pneumonia died at SMHS today.
Among other victims include a 65-year-old woman from Buchpora Srinagar, an 85-year-old woman from Kanimazar Srinagar, a 45-year-old man from Check Ashmuji Kulgam, a 40-year-old man from Nawbal Batpora Kulgam and a 65-year-old woman from Ahoom Shangus.
With these deaths, officials said, 734 people have succumbed to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir so far. Among them, they said, 659 were from the Valley.
Kashmir today reported 367 COVID-19 cases taking the total number of positive cases in J&K to 38,864.
Those who tested positive in Kashmir include 131 from Srinagar, 22 Baramulla, 16 Pulwama, 56 Budgam, 30 Anantnag, 27 Bandipora, 18 Kupwara, 11 Kulgam, 2 Shopian and 54 from Ganderbal.
As per officials figures, 9,499 positive cases including 225 deaths and 7,811 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,862 including 100 deaths and 2,288 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,700 including 2,167 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,580 including 1,837 recoveries and 62 deaths are from Budgam, 2,389 including 51 deaths and 1,880 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,235 including 1,507 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,135 cases including 1,511 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,944 including 1,755 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,703 including 1,597 recoveries and 28 deaths are from Shopian and 1,521 cases including 1,070 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Ganderbal.
Srinagar district alone has 9,499 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 9,296.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 8,053 including 5,558 from Kashmir division.
With 595 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 30,079 which is 77.39 percent of the total cases.
Out of 996,481 the number of samples tested negative stands at 957,617 while 38,864 have tested positive, among them 8,053 are active and 30,079 persons have recovered.
