JAMMU, July 11: The Government today placed 10 Block Development Officers (BDOs) in Poonch and Kupwara districts under suspension.
Official sources said that action against these RDD officials has been taken by the Secretary to the Govt, RDD, Sheetal Nanda for violating the instructions issued vide Govt Order No. 126-RD&PR of 2018 dated 18-05-2018.
They included BDO Surankote, Qadeer Charak, BDO Mendhar Mohd Aftab Manhas, BDO Bafliaz Mohd Mukhlis Qureshi, BDO Lassana Mazar Hussain Shah (DPO with addl charge of BDO), BDO Loran, Mohd Naseem and BDO Poonch A R Hussain; BDO Karalpora (Kupwara), BDO Hirri Qadriabad (Kupwara), BDO Reddi Chakibal and BDO Meelyal.
Sources further said that these officials had withdrawn excessive amount out of labour component for the sanctioned works under MG-NREGA. The department is contemplating to take similar action against the officials in Rajouri, Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, Baramulla and other districts.
