1 killed, 5 hurt in road mishaps

SRINAGAR, Oct 7: One person was killed and five others were injured in different road accidents across Valley.
A police spokesperson said that an unidentified vehicle hit a motorcycle bearing registration number JK05A 1384 near Model Town B, Sopore on National Highway, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist Ashiq Hussain Mir son of Nazir Ahmad of Brath Kalan, Sopore and pillion rider Mohammad Ashiq Khan, son of Abdul Gani of Seloo, Sopore. Both the injured were shifted to SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar for treatment, where Mir succumbed to his injuries. A case has been registered in this regard.
A Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK03 9955 on way from Srinagar to Anantnag hit and injured a pedestrian Mohammad Moosa son of Mohammad Yousuf of Kalakote Rajouri at Sethar, Anantnag, in the jurisdiction of police station Bijbehara. The injured was shifted to Sub district hospital, Bijbehara for treatment. Later he was referred to SKIMS, Soura.
An unidentified vehicle hit a motorcycle at Ahad Baba Crossing, Sopore, resulting in injuries to Mohammad Ramzan Ganie, son of Mohammad Mukhtar and Jehangir Ahmad Ganie, son of Mohammad Subhan of Nowpora Kalan. Both the injured were shifted to Sub district hospital, Sopore.
A Tata Indica bearing registration number JK01F 6120 rammed into an electric pole at Old Nishat, Srinagar, resulting in injuries to driver Irshad Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Gani of Awantipora. The injured was shifted to SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar.
