NEW DELHI, June 5: Minister for School Education, Haj & Auqaf and Tribal Affairs Ch. Zulfkar Ali met Director General Border Roads Organisation, Lt. General Harpal Singh here today.
During the meeting the Minister discussed the progress on various road projects in the hilly district. The Minister stressed on the need to expedite work on Rajouri –Kandi Budhal Road and ensure its completion by September 2019.
They also discussed 53 kms Rajouri-Thanamandi Buffliaz Road which was proposed to be realigned to connect Mughal Road. As per the latest status initial survey stands completed, DPR is in the process and work is on the priority basis.
The meeting also discussed the resurfacing work of Chingus-Rajouri road where work is in progress and shall be completed within 2 months.
Regarding the permanent ANS Bridge at Koteranka which was partially damaged in the year 2014, it was informed that its design is already sanctioned and BRO has assured completion of the same by September 2018.
The Minister also discussed the Akhnoor- Poonch road which was sanctioned under PMDP and whose work shall commence shortly.
DG BRO assured that all the projects under taken by BRO in Rajouri districts shall be completed within 2 years.
The meeting was also attended by Col. Uday Nain Singh, Comdr. 31 BRTF, ADC Rojouri and AC (Defence) and other senior officials.
