Zorawar Chowk

Sir,
Let us make amends and start educating people about Gen Zorawar Singh and educate people to call it Zorawar Chowk and not Ghora Chowk. It is really shameful. Will the passangers admonish the matador drivers for it.
I suggest some volunteers may start a campaign on the Zorawar Day, 13 Apr in Jammu at the matador stops to educate the public.
We appeal to the matador Association and it’s management to put it right. We also request the Traffic Deptt. to respect the sentiments of the Dogras.

Sir,
It is observed that the leading officials of the local administration are by and large local residents, move around the city, interact with the local population, observe all things wrong requiring corrective action but turn a blind eye, let the situation go from bad to worse and wake up only when a hue and cry is raised by the public instead of taking suo moto action.
A case is point is the beautiful statue of the legendary Gen Zorawar Singh, the creator of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The chowk is unfortunately referred to as the Ghora Chowk, instead of Gen Zorawar Singh Chowk by the public at large, which I am sure the administration must be aware but has done nothing to address the situation.
I would therefore request the authorities to put up bold multi lingual luminous sign boards on all the three roads at the tri junction so that the public can easily read it and identify it with the majestic statue and get used to referring it as the Gen Zorawar Singh Chowk. It is only then that the public will be inquisitive to know the history of the Legendary Gen and his contribution to our state and feel proud of our own UT, its history and historical personalities.
