NEW DELHI, May 15: Zinc futures softened by 0.48 per cent to Rs 124.25 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in booking profits, driven by a decline in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in May weakened by 60 paise, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 124.25 per kg in a business turnover of 218 lots.
In a similar way, the metal for delivery in June traded lower by 45 paise, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 125 per kg in 8 lots.
Analysts said the fall in zinc at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators after decline in demand in the spot market. (PTI)
