NEW DELHI, Nov 26: Zinc prices fell by 0.29 per cent to Rs 139.85 per kg in futures trade today after speculators trimmed positions amid a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in current month declined by 40 paise, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 139.85 per kg in a business turnover of 257 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in December contracts softened by 35 paise, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 140.55 per kg in eight lots.
Analysts said the weakness in zinc at futures trade was mostly due to a weak trend in copper and other base metals in the global markets before durable goods data from the US, the second-largest metals consumer, and after consumer confidence unexpectedly fell. (PTI)
