JAMMU, Jan 25: YUVTARANG 2022-23, the mega literary and cultural contest organized by Department of Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu, culminated with the last segment of KALANJALI which included four events -Skit, Mime, Mimicry and Group Dance Folk.
25 students from constituent colleges and PG Schools, Cluster University of Jammu, participated in these events.
In Skit, MAM College bagged the Gold Medal while GCW Gandhi Nagar and Govt College of Education bagged the Silver and Bronze Medal, respectively.
In Mime, GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged the Gold, GGM Science College the Silver and MAM College the Bronze.
In Mimicry, Bhandhana Rani from MAM College bagged the Gold while Savi and Ashpreet Kour from GCW Gandhi Nagar clinched the Silver and Bronze, respectively.
In Group Dance Folk, GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged the Gold, SPMR College of Commerce the Silver and Govt College of Education the Bronze.
Prof Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, CLUJ graced the prize distribution ceremony along with Prof Minu Mahajan, Principal GCW Gandhi Nagar; Dr Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar and Dr Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare. Dr Mohd. Zubair, Dean, School of Teacher Education, CLUJ was the observer for the event.
Prof Bechan Lal appreciated the efforts of students who enticed and lit the stage with their impeccable dramatic skills and rendition of folklore and dance. He exhorted that extracurricular activities play an imperative role in the holistic development of students and with implementation of NEP 2020, the entire curriculum has been redesigned so that students get a chance to explore their potential and make their education a wholesome experience.
Dr Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare informed that about 500 students from constituent colleges and PG Schools participated in the 25 events of YUVTARANG.
The programme was coordinated by Dr Kuldeep Raina and Dr Revika Arora, Cultural Coordinators, Dr Maansi Sharma, Dr Sushma Sharma, Dr Reeta Menia, Dr Javid Iqbal and Prof Mohd Ashraf, Assistant Deans, under the overall supervision of Dr Banpreet Kour and Dr Devinder Kumar Sharma, Associate Deans, Students Welfare, CLUJ.
The adjudicators for Skit, Mime, Mimicry comprised of Anil Tickoo (JKAACL), Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer, JU) and Abhishek Bharti (Theatre Director) and Amit Gupta (Choreographer). Dr Priya Dutt and Shivani Kapoor (IMFA) were the adjudicators for Group Dance Folk.
