JAMMU, Feb 23: Demanding establishment of National Law University at Jammu, Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) today held a peaceful day-long protest expressing strong resentment against the J&K Government.

YRS members assembled in front of the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh near Tawi Bridge and held staged a day long protest dharna. This protest was led by YRS President Mandeep Singh Rimpi, along with senior members and former presidents of the Sabha.
Carrying placards and banners in their hands, the protesting YRS members raised slogans against the J&K Government and in support of the demand for NLU in Jammu.
While addressing the gathering, Mandeep Singh alleged that the Chief Minister and Ministers of the NC Government in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the MLAs of Jammu, do not seem to be taking NLU issue seriously.
“Through this token protest, we are issuing a warning to the Government of J&K UT, to resolve this issue as soon as possible and pass a resolution requesting the Central Government to establish this university in the Jammu Division, so that children of the Dogra community of Jammu can also study at this university,’ he said..
Former President Vikram Singh Vicky and Rajan Singh Happy also spoke on the occasion and appealed to the people of Jammu to unite and raise their voice on this legitimate issue,
Founder Member Rajinder Singh, Chief Spokesperson Vishal Singh, Senior Vice President Avtar Singh, Tinu Singh, General Secretary Bhanu Pratap along with Bharat Singh, Vishu Singh, Raghav Singh, Abhi Singh, Anil Singh, Manish Singh, Sahil Singh, Rakesh Singh, Pankaj Singh, Romi Singh, Deshraj Singh, and other members were present during the protest dharna.
