JAMMU, Nov 15: Senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu East constituency, Yudhvir Sethi, kick-started the much-awaited blacktopping project worth Rs 50 lakh at Ware House and adjoining localities in Jammu today.
Speaking on the occasion, Sethi said that the development of basic infrastructure remains a top priority, and the initiative aims to provide long-pending relief to residents and traders who have been demanding road upgradation for years.
Yudhvir Sethi stated that improving road connectivity is fundamental to boosting trade and easing public movement in one of Jammu’s busiest commercial zones.
He expressed confidence that the project will enhance the overall infrastructure of the area and support business activities that rely heavily on smooth transport facilities. “Our effort is to ensure quality development with complete transparency so that people get long-term benefits,” he said.
The work was formally inaugurated in the presence of AEE PWD Vikesh Kumar Chadgal and JEE Sanjay Kotwal, who briefed the locals about the technical aspects and assured timely completion with strict adherence to quality standards.
The engineering team also emphasized that the upgraded road surface will help reduce traffic issues and improve safety for commuters.
Prominent members of the Ware House Traders Federation and local stakeholders were present during the ceremony. Those who accompanied include Deepak Gupta (president of the Federation), Abhimanyu Gupta (general secretary), Dheeraj Mahajan (senior vice president) and senior member Naresh Pardhan.
Other distinguished persons present were Karunesh Gupta, Atul Khanna, Charanjeet Singh Raina (Director, Citizen Cooperative Bank), Kanchan Singh Raina and Gurmeet Singh.
Yudhvir Sethi reiterated his commitment to advancing public welfare initiatives and assured that more developmental works will be taken up in the constituency to further strengthen civic facilities.
