Yudhvir asks officials to permanently resolve water logging issue

JAMMU, July 28; Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and party’s J&K vice president, Yudhvir Sethi has asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Flood and Irrigation officials to take concrete measures in order to permanently resolve the water logging problem in Chand Nagar area so that people feel respite during the rainy season in future.
The BJP leader urged the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Irrigation Department officials who accompanied him during his visit to the area today. Sethi was taking stock of the problems being faced by people of the area due to incessant rains as a result of which they face multiple problems. He conducted the visit in response to the request of people of Chand Nagar.
After assessing the loopholes and discrepancies that led to recurring water logging problem in the area during rainy season, Sethi asked the concerned officials accompanying him to fix the problem once for all so that the problem of water logging in that area does not occur again so that the people as well as the shopkeepers do not face problems on this count in future.
Yudhvir Sethi said that it is a matter of serious concern that despite funds to the tune of crores of rupees coming from the Centre for the development of Jammu and Kashmir for years, the water logging problem in vulnerable areas has not been fixed and has become a recurring feature during the rainy season.
