JAMMU, Mar 23: Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) here today staged a protest demonstration and reiterated the demand of holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh—the last Dogra ruler of erstwhile J&K State.
The protesters gathered near the statue of Maharaja at Tawi bridge and raised slogans in favour of their demand of holiday on September 23—the birth anniversary of Maharaja.
The protesters said that they will soon meet MoS PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh as well as Ravinder Raina, J&K BJP president in this regard.
“If still the holiday is not sanctioned, then the coming Assembly elections will shock the BJP,” a protester said while talking with reporters.
The protesters said that the authorities are in slumber over the issue.
They counted the reforms initiated by the Maharaja and said that protests shall continue till the holiday demand is not conceded.
