YouTuber arrested for abuse after one of her children sought help

Washington, Sept 2: Prominent YouTube member Ruby Franke has been arrested together with her business partner on charges of aggravated child abuse, the Santa Clara-Ivins Public Safety Department said.
“The juvenile was asking for food and water. The condition of the juvenile was so severe that they were seen by Santa Clara-Ivins EMS [emergency medical services] and transported to a local area hospital,” the Santa Clara-Ivins Public Safety Department said in a release on Friday.
The authorities pointed out that they received a report on Wednesday regarding an emaciated and malnourished juvenile with open wounds asking for help, the release said.
Franke, 41, gained notoriety through her now-defunct YouTube channel “8 Passengers,” where she showcased her parenting methods with her six children.
Franke is also alleged to have used controversial methods of punishing her children such as withholding food from them, according to reports.
