‘Youtharva 2016’ begins at JU

JAMMU, Mar 18:  Two-day Business Fest ‘Youtharva-2016’ began  today with lots of dynamism and enthusiasm at The Business School, University of Jammu, unfolding series of activities wherein a total number of 7 participating business management institutes from within and outside the State will compete.
Professor Poonam Dhawan, Dean Academic Affairs, JU, who was chief guest on the occasion, spoke about the power of Youth, Youtharva, and the need for the younger generation to try their best at what they do and introspect where they can do better.
Ajay Khajuria, General Manager (Marketing) Airtel, was the guest of honour in the inaugural function.  He quoted the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and emphasized upon the need for creating a conducive organizational climate where each and every student needs to have a long term vision for not only developing their potential but also building wholesome personalities.
Professor Keshav Sharma, Dean Faculty of Business Studies and Registrar JU, said that student participation in competitive events of this nature is paramount to the wholesome development of the students.
Prof Pankaj Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare, JU, said that the management students should take initiative and utilize such opportunities to showcase their talent and creativity in front of the corporate experts.
Earlier, Professor B C Sharma, Director of the Business School, welcomed the guests and dwelled upon the need to shift focus of the academic institutions from being teaching-centric to ‘learning centric’, so as to create learning environments within the class room situations.
During the function, the dignitaries unveiled the ‘Youtharva 2016 Champion Trophy’ while the ‘Youtharva-2016’ newsletter was also released.
Prof Alka Sharma, Chair Fest, presented a formal vote of thanks.  The proceedings of the function were conducted by Adarsh Jamwal and Anamika Badyal, MBA students from the second semester. Later in the day, competitive events including Inquizitive, Aghaaz, Click and Capture, Earn your Money, Bull or Bear, Rangmanch were organized.
