SAMBA, Dec 23: The aspirants who had applied for their recruitment in Border Battalion in Samba district held a demonstration today for the failure of concerned authorities to hold the written examination till date though their physical tests were conducted several months back.
The protestors said for the border villages of Jammu and Kashmir, applications were sought from the youth by the Central Government to form a Border Battalion, in which many youth male and female had applied and appeared in physical examination, but even after several months, their written examination has not been conducted. The youth demonstrated with the support of Congress leaders at the Main Chowk here.
The demonstration was led by Shushil Kumar, district president of the State Youth Congress. The protesters took out a march from the Samba border road to the Main Chowk and, raising slogans against the Government, they also burnt an effigy of the Government at the Chowk.
In the demonstration, chief spokesperson of Youth Congress, Sandeep Sharma said that the Central Government has been misleading the people with the jugglery of words. The process of recruitment has been started in the year 2018 and now 2022 is about to start and till date process of recruitment is not over. This proves that this Government does not want to give jobs to the youth of J&K.
He said that around 2700 children from all over the district had participated in this process and till date their selection has not been finalized.
