SAMBA, Feb 5: In Bollywood style, a youth killed a girl in his neighborhood after stabbing her with a sharp edged weapon this evening in village Dagg Channi in Ramgarh area of Samba district and later committed suicide at the roof top of girl’s house with the same weapon.
The incident took place this evening when the 20 year old girl identified as Rimpy, daughter of Bauti Ram was alone at her residence and a youth living in the same neighborhood who has been identified as Anil Kumar, S/o Kair Singh intruded into her room and attacked her.
Police said Anil inflicted multiple injuries with Kirtch at various parts of her body. The girl fell in a pool of blood and succumbed to her injuries.
The youth later went on the roof top of the same house and committed suicide, police said, adding the body of the girl was handed over to family for last rites after postmortem. However, the body of youth is lying in Ramnagar hospital for postmortem.
Police said the motive of murder and suicide is being investigated. The girl was alone at her residence during the time of episode and there was also no body at the residence of youth except his old mother, who told the police that she does not know any thing about it as she was in her room.
Police said the girl was to be married on February 18 this month.
Ramgarh Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started investigations.
Panic gripped the area as the news spread in the village and surrounding localities.
