BANI (Kathua), June 7: A youth was injured in a gun fire in remote Banjal area of Bani tehsil of district Kathua late last evening.
Reports said the accidental fire took place when 23-year-old Pawan Kumar, son of Romal Singh was sitting in the fields with his father’s loaded country made (Desi) gun to protect crop from monkeys. Due to mis-handling of the gun, it suddenly went off causing pellet injuries to Pawan in legs and feet.
The family members after covering 8-hour long distance on foot, removed the injured to Billawar hospital. His condition was said to be stable now. The police has taken cognizance.
