POONCH, Dec 4: A villager was injured when bear attacked him in Kanal Fatehpur area of tehsil Mandi in Poonch district today, while the Wildlife Department captured the bear later.
Locals said that a wild bear was roaming in the area between Baila and Fatehpur since morning due to which there was a scare in the whole area.
The bear earlier attack on a woman in Baila area while he injured a youth in the second attack in Kanal area, who was taken to SDH Mandi and kept under observation there after treatment.
Officials identified injured person as Basharat Hussain, son of Zakir Hussain Shah. The locals said that they were terrorized by this bear roaming in the area. They said the Wildlife Department was also informed about the matter.
A team of WLD reached the area and captured the bear with the assistance of locals. People urged the Administration to provide Wildlife Department employees the necessary equipments and take proper steps to save human lives.
