POONCH, May 19: A 22- years old youth was injured in bear attack at Kanari area of Mandi in Poonch district today.
Family members of injured youth said that their son is serving as porter with Army and while returning home, he was attacked by the bear in midway between the area of Kanari and WSS, when he didn’t reach home we went to search and found him seriously injured.
It took us about 3 hours on foot to reach on road. He was then shifted to SDH Mandi.
Injured youth was identified as Ashfaq Ahmed (22), son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Kanari in Tehsil Mandi.
Dr Saqib said that he was having multiple injuries and after initial treatment, injured youth was referred to District Hospital Poonch for surgical consultation.
